Accidental insensibilities.

Was there an accident close to where you live? Did a person get injured or god forbid die on the busy road that happens to run right by your house? Is this road being totally offensive by placing itself right by where you live?
Clearly the situation has to be dealt with.
In the event that any or all of the above are answered with an incriminating 'Yes' action must be taken. There are however a few different avenues that could be pursued when it comes to action. There is no doubt however that the best course of action to take in such a situation is a Road Block.
Yes, a road block. Before you begin lauding me with adjectives such as irrational, illogical and a myriad of other related distinctions, I should have an opportunity to back myself. Please hear me out. Once you read my reasons, there will be no doubt left in your mind that the course of action I advocate is not only the right thing to do, but the most effective in dealing with this overall situation.

A. Blocking the road following the accident clearly reduces the likelyhood of such an event occuring at least for the period that will take for the parties involved in the blockade to forget about the tragic incidence. No traffic, no accident. Let the blood dry out, perhaps the rains shall wash it away and we can go back to the good old days where we could leave things slike traffic laws, and other such unnecessary rules and regulations to do what they do best. Provide guidelines that we can ignore.

B. Blocking the road can be a lot of fun. In fact in my opinion a road block calls for a party, and I choose to call it a block party. All the people who have been so gratefully given a break from their hectic schedules can now enjoy a nice festive environment, or alternatively drown their sorrows in whatever local beverage that is available and has potential to do the job. Who wants to go home or to their jobs anyway?

C. Blocking the road after the accident can actually be easier then a witness taking the license plate number of the offending vehicle and reporting it to the authorites. Who has time to stand by the road and take license plate numbers. Am I losing my marbles? No, its so much more easier to just block the damn road. Bring out the tires, and rocks, and tree stumps from the last blockade, pile them up on the street, and there we have it. Problem solved. Permanently!

D. They say that sharing grief can alleviate some pain. Well what better way to share the grief of the familes who have just lost a member by watching other souls in pain walking the roads miles away to their destinations. This sharing procedure can be further enhanced if the individuals walking on the street as a result of the block could be preferrably old, handicapped, burdened with heavy items of luggage or all of the above. Now that has some potential. Let's face it, this could be the next best thing after reality T.V.

And those are just four reasons why we as responsible citizens of this nation, should encourage road blocks. Not only that we should also take part in them in as much as possible. I am sure with all the collective logical reasoning capabilites our nation holds we could come up with many other reasons.
As an ending note, I offer my sincere apology and condolences to all families that have been victims of unfortunate road accidents, and the sad fact that we get so much enjoyment at their expense.
